      We will be doing many exciting activities this year and learning many new things. During the year we will concentrate on becoming better writers, learning multiplication and division, and cursive handwriting.  We will be moving from the concept of "learning to read" to "reading to learn." One of the ways we will have fun with reading this year is doing an extensive book study of Charlotte's Web.   

      Throughout the year we will complete a few different research projects  when we study penguins and historical people. We will get to witness the gift of life as we learn about embryology through the hatching of chickens.  After the completion of our Forces and Motion Science Unit, we will take a trip to LEGOLAND to use these concepts in action. 

      You will also learn to use an assignment planner to manage your daily homework assignments; this will help you grow into a mature, responsible student. We are also going to try a new style of seating this year called flexible seating.

      The most exciting thing about third grade is when you receive your Bible.  We will learn how to use them, and we will use them every day.  Through this you will continue to grow in your faith and see how God’s plan of salvation has unfolded, and how He has worked, and is working, in your life.  I pray that you will then spread that same wonderful message to the people you meet.

      This year we will focus on Moving Forward in Faith..   This is based on 2 Corinthians 5:7 - For we walk by faith, not by sight.
