Dear Kindergarten Families:
Here are this week's updates:
Graduation is on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. Children will need to arrive by 6:30. Caps and gowns have already been ordered and you will get to keep them. Since we do not have a photographer to come to the school for pictures, Mr. Harrell will be doing cap and gown pictures. He has a professional camera and does a lot of waterways photography as a city employee for Parks and Recreation. I will let you know when we are ready for pictures and give you a date. There will be a graduation program, along with a reception afterwards. :)
*The Eagles Lodge Annual Fundraiser is Friday, April 27th, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. RSVP date is the 24th. Information about this fundraiser went home a while ago, but if you need this info again, just let me know. I am placing some pictures of our class donations below so you can see what your cash donations was able to purchase. I am also placing a picture of the info board for the cabin donated by Trevor's grandparents. I believe that all the donations from each class will be listed on the school facebook page.
*Earth Day Project: I will be sending home a project on Tuesday titled "Recycle Robot". This is a project that we will partly be working on in class and part will be for doing at home. This is a STEM project, so the children are in the design phase of their robots. Tuesday, they will list the recycled materials they plan to use. These papers will then go home attached the rest of the project. Your child will need to use a variety of materials to assemble a "robot". These materials can include boxes, plastic bottles, jugs, paper, aluminum foil, cardboard, or any other material except for glass. The kids are super excited about their robots and I can't wait to see what they come up with!
Show and Tell this week is something yellow.
*Our chapel is Tues., May 1st, at 9:00
Academics: This week in reading, we are learning all about transportation! We will read stories about ways to get from place to place. In language, we will continue to use nouns, verbs, and prepositions in our sentences and begin using exclamation points. In math, we will continue to learn how to count mixed coins and tell time on the hour. In Bible, we will be reading the story of Jesus feeding 5000. Science will focus on Earth Day activities and our recycle robots! Sight words for the week are: saw, very, Heaven, Bible. Our memory verse is, Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice! Philippians 4:4.
Have a blessed week! :)
