Good Sunday afternoon K families! Here are this week's announcements:
*We are getting a new student on Monday. Her name is Skylar. The kids don't know about it yet, so please share with them and ask them to be good friends and welcome her.
*Please remember to sign and send back report cards in your child's folder.
*My room moms and I will get together this week to discuss our Easter party. We will plan a little menu and post it.
*Sight Words are: three, under, yellow, pray, love
*Reminders will go home this week regarding the zoo field trip. This will include reminders about car seats, lunches, drinks, and meeting times.
Academics:
This week we will work on problem-solution in our reading elements. We will learn new special sounds, including 4 new suffixes and will learn now to add them to the end of root words. We will begin learning about counting change and will work with teen numbers (base ten plus ones and place value). Counting change is actually quite easy for the children, thanks to learning 5 group and base 10! In science, we will learn about baby animals and their habitats, just in time for our zoo trip! In Bible, we will learn a little more about Jesus as an adult in His ministry and about His relationship with His mother, Mary. Next week we will begin learning about the events that led up to the Crucifixion.
Our Bible memory verse for the week is, "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?" -Psalm 27:1. I want to say how happy I was to hear so many children tell me last week that their parents or grandparents had the Jeremiah 29:11 hanging somewhere in their homes. They recognized the verse! How awesome is that!
Have a blessed week!
Love,
Mrs. Tracy Lynn Harrell
