Good morning K Families:

Hi everyone! Looking forward to seeing you all tonight. Please remind me of who will not be attending this evening so I can pass this info along to Mrs. Crespo. Here are this week's announcements:

*As a reminder, info for tonight's service is listed in a post below and I also sent out an email.

*Candy Cane Lane is this week. This is a special shopping opportunity for your little ones to pick up things and surprise family members! We will do some browsing before your children come home with a list of what they would like to purchase. We will take them shopping, but you may also shop during the times listed on the info that went home last week.

*I will post Christmas party info in a separate post here.

*Reading is coming along well! I am so proud to have moved so many children up a book last week! We will begin long vowel sounds this week. Keep up the great work at home!

Academics:

*Reading/Language/Phonics: We will read stories this week that focus on Christmas legends and traditions from Mexico and Italy. We are working on proper nouns, adding plural form of -s to nouns, and opposite words. In phonics, we will begin learning the concept of long vowel words and silent /e/.

*Math: Review of 2-D shapes and patterns, problem solving, and chapter review of geometry.

*Bible: The story of the birth of Jesus. We will begin with the Angel Gabriel's visit to Mary and Joseph. We will make a nativity scene this week and do a special writing assignment about the meaning of Christmas.

Science/Social Studies: The animals of the nativity and Christmas Around the World/Mexico and Italy. We will learn about customs and traditions from these countries and learn how to say Merry Christmas in Spanish and Italian!

Sight Words: you, with, Christmas

Show and Tell-Something Green, Odds

Have a wonderful and blessed week!

Love,

Mrs. Tracy
