Hello Kindergarten Families,

This week will be a short one for us due to the educator's conference, but we have many annoucements!  Here are this coming week's highlights:

*School will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 28-29th, for our annual educator's conference.

*There will be no homework this week or sight words due to the short week.  Instead, we will spend time reviewing the words we have already learned.

*Benchmark testing will be the first week of October.  This test will include sight words, letters we have learned, and story elements such as character and setting.  Parent conferences will be later in October.

*Math unit testing will also be the first week of October.  It will include numbers learned to-date, shapes, the concept of groups and pairs, and number lines.

*We are continuing to collect money for The Big Pink Bus at each chapel.  If you ordered a t-shirt to wear on Fridays throughout the month of October, those will go home next week.

*Our Johnny Appleseed party is on Tuesday, Sept. 26th, and information went home on Wednesday.  You just need to send in an  apple-y snack (enough for a few children to share) and we will all have a little bit of each thing brought in.  We will also watch a Johnny Appleseed video and do an apple craft.  Our room mom, Mrs. Tammy, will be on hand to help out, as well as Trevor's grammy, Mrs. Tonya.  If you would like to come help out, just let me know!  :)

*Mrs. Jane and I are asking that all water bottles have a sippy straw due to many spilled bottles on seatwork.  Thank you!

If anything else comes up during the week, I will post it on our facebook page.  Have a wonderful week and God bless you all!

Mrs. Tracy :)
